October 17, 2001 - Digital Antenna, the leader in antenna technology, is pleased to announce their new DA4000 Cellular Phone Radio Frequency Amplifier for the marine industry. The DA4000 provides amplification of transmit and receive signals for improved cellular phone use, greatly enhancing range and system access while decreasing the number of dropped calls in areas where signals are weak. Combining the DA4000 with Digital Antenna's Cellular Antenna product line increases the gain of the cellular phone up to 30dB.
The DA4000 can be used with most existing hands free kits and directly with hand-held cellular phones. The DA4000 offers superior performance and outstanding range, unequaled in the industry. It can be used with most digital cellular phones that operate using CDMA, TDMA, and PCS protocols. The DA4000 is pending FCC approval. |
Cellular antennas on ships and boats are important given that most marine traffic occurs within 50 miles of land. Currently the antenna supplied with the cellular phone has a common range of 3-5 miles from shore making communication in emergency situations difficult. Focusing its energies on improving distance, Digital Antenna's engineers designed a quality high performance cellular frequency amplifier boosting the gain of a typical digital cellular phone up to 20dB. Combined with a quality Dual Band Cellular Antenna already being sold by Digital Antenna, the extra “Kick” gives the cellular phone increased range and greater performance.
