When a customer places a call, the signal is routed through multiple satellites and then combined into a single static-free call. If one satellite is blocked, the others continue to carry the call. This process, known as path diversity, enhances the quality of the call and minimizes the chance of the call being dropped. Sea Tel/Globalstar Fixed Maritime Satellite Phones These Globalstar fixed maritime satellite phones are designed for use in a wide range of marine environments. They are ideally suited for environments where exposure to rain, corrosion, salt spray, splashing and high-pressure water is common. Making a Call Making a call with your Sea Tel Globalstar Satellite Phone is accomplished as easily as a wireline connection. Simply: •  Pick up the telephone handset and wait for the dial tone. When you hear the tone, dial the telephone number. •  After a short pause, the number will be sent over the Globalstar satellite system. •  To end a call, place the telephone handset in its cradle.
